Glass & quality
Privacy tint, safety certification and the finish you can expect.
Why choose VanGlaze windows over cheaper alternatives on marketplace websites?
Unlike many lower-cost alternatives that rely on flat glass or inconsistent privacy tints, VanGlaze windows are precision manufactured to replicate the original factory OEM curvature of your vehicle. Combined with our premium deep-smoke privacy glass and consistent glass thickness, this delivers a seamless fit and an authentic factory appearance from every angle.
Is your privacy glass a film tint or genuine stained glass?
All VanGlaze windows are manufactured using genuine 80% factory-tinted privacy glass, providing a deep, consistent finish without the use of aftermarket window films.
Unlike applied films, the tint is integrated directly into the glass during the manufacturing process. This means it cannot scratch, bubble, peel or deteriorate over time, ensuring a premium appearance and lasting performance.
Are your windows safety certified?
Yes. Every window panel we supply is made of fully tempered safety glass and carries the globally recognized tempered E-mark certification (EU 43R). This ensures compliance with strict British and European automotive safety standards.
Does your privacy glass help regulate interior van temperature?
Beyond its sleek appearance and enhanced privacy, our genuine 80% factory-tinted glass provides effective protection against solar heat and UV radiation. By reducing solar glare and heat transmission, it helps maintain a cooler, more comfortable interior during the summer months, while also helping to protect upholstery, trim and other interior finishes from UV-related fading.
Can I fit a blackout, fake or dummy window to my van?
Yes. Our fixed privacy glass can be installed directly over the vehicle’s original body panels, including side panels, barn doors (BD) and tailgates (TG).
These are commonly referred to as blackout, dummy or fake windows. The glass is bonded directly over the original body panel, creating the appearance of a genuine window while retaining the solid panel behind the glass.
For the best possible finish, we recommend painting the panel black or applying a black vinyl wrap prior to installation. This helps prevent the original body colour from showing through the glass, creating a clean, seamless and factory-style appearance once fitted.
Choosing the right fit
Vehicle sides, wheelbases and rear door configurations.
Can I purchase an individual window for my conversion?
Yes. All of our windows are available to purchase individually, giving you complete flexibility without being restricted to pre-defined packages.
This allows you to design and configure your van exactly as you want, selecting only the specific windows and components required for your project.
What do SWB and LWB mean?
These abbreviations refer to your vehicle’s factory wheelbase configuration, such as Short Wheelbase (SWB), Medium Wheelbase (MWB), Long Wheelbase (LWB) or Extra Long Wheelbase (XLWB).
As side panel dimensions can vary significantly between different wheelbase configurations, please check your vehicle’s exact wheelbase before placing your order.
How do I make sure I order for the correct side of the van?
To help eliminate fitting and ordering errors, we use standard UK automotive terminology based on sitting inside the vehicle facing forwards:
Near Side (NS): Left-hand side / passenger side.
Off Side (OS): Right-hand side / driver’s side.
Front (F) – Section 1: Refers to the window panel positioned towards the front of the vehicle, typically directly behind the cab.
Rear Quarter (RQ) – Section 2: Refers to the window panel positioned towards the rear of the vehicle, typically around or over the rear wheel arch.
Rear (BD/TG) – Section 3: Refers to the rear window panel, typically fitted into the rear barn doors (BD) or tailgate (TG).
These terms are used consistently throughout our product listings to clearly identify the position and configuration of each window, helping customers select the correct product and minimise fitting and ordering errors.
How do I know if I have a Barn Doors or a Tailgate?
A Barn Door (BD) configuration consists of two separate rear doors that unlatch and swing open outwards from the centre.
A Tailgate (TG) is a single, large rear door that unlatches at the bottom and lifts upwards, typically supported by gas struts.
Fitting & care
Installation essentials and getting to know your windows.
Do you offer a professional window fitting service?
Yes, absolutely. We offer a professional, high-quality window installation service for customers who prefer to leave the fitting to our experienced team.
Simply contact us via our website contact form, email or live chat, and we can arrange a convenient appointment for your vehicle. Our team will ensure your windows are fitted accurately and to a high standard.
Can I install these windows myself as a DIY project?
Yes. Many self-build converters successfully install our bonded glass themselves using our premium installation accessories.
However, DIY fitting requires a high level of confidence, the correct tools and careful preparation, as the process involves cutting into the vehicle’s metal bodywork and handling heavy automotive glass.
If you’re unsure about fitting the windows yourself, we recommend using our professional fitting service. Simply contact us to arrange an appointment with our experienced installation team.
Do your windows include Fitting Kits and U-Trims?
Our windows are sold as standalone items, giving you complete flexibility to customise your order to suit your project.
For DIY installations, we also stock professional-grade fitting kits containing high-strength automotive adhesive, glass cleaner and specialist black primer. We also offer heavy-duty interior rubber U-Trim to neatly finish and protect the cut metal edges.
These fitting accessories are available to purchase separately and can be added to your order as required.
Are the integrated locks on the sliding windows secure?
Absolutely. Our sliding windows feature a robust, integrated internal locking mechanism designed to sit flush within the window frame. The lock cannot be accessed or operated from outside the vehicle, providing enhanced security and peace of mind when leaving your camper unattended.
Is minor moisture or pooling in the lower internal track of my sliding window a sign of a leak?
Not necessarily. Sliding windows contain moving components and therefore cannot be completely sealed against water ingress. They are specifically designed with an internal drainage channel and external weep slots along the bottom of the window frame.
Any rainwater entering the track is safely collected and directed back outside through these drainage slots. A small amount of moisture or water within the lower track can therefore be normal.
If you notice water overflowing from the track, please check that the small external drainage slots are clear of dirt, debris or carpet-lining fibres, as blockages can prevent water from draining correctly.
Delivery & trade
Packaging, priority dispatch and business accounts.
How do you ensure fragile automotive glass travels safely?
We take every precaution to ensure your automotive glass arrives safely. Our proprietary multi-layer packaging system incorporates heavy-duty reinforced telescopic boxes, rigid corner protectors and high-density impact-absorbing inserts to provide maximum protection during transit.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible, ideally within 24 hours, with photographs of the glass and packaging where available. This helps us investigate with the courier. Reporting later, or no longer having the original packaging, does not remove your statutory rights. Once confirmed, we will arrange a replacement or other appropriate remedy.
Do you offer a priority same-day dispatch cutoff?
Yes. If you select our Priority Service at checkout, your order will be prioritised by our logistics team for same-day dispatch.
The strict cut-off for priority same-day dispatch is 12:00 PM (midday), Monday to Friday. Orders placed after this time, or over the weekend, will be processed for dispatch on the next working day.
Do you offer commercial trade accounts for conversion specialists?
Yes. We work with campervan conversion specialists, fleet bodywork companies and professional window installation businesses across the UK.
If you’re a trade customer, contact our team through the Trade Account Portal on our website to discuss opening a commercial account. Approved trade customers can benefit from tiered trade pricing and priority supply.
Warranty & claims
Five-year cover for product defects. Normal wear and tear excluded. Customer-paid returns in years 2–5, except where statutory rights require otherwise.
What does the five-year warranty cover?
Every product supplied by VanGlaze is covered by our five-year warranty against defects in materials and manufacturing workmanship, starting on delivery or collection. Products must be used for their intended purpose and cared for in line with the instructions supplied.
This is an additional warranty. Your statutory rights are not affected, including rights relating to satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and goods being as described.
Who pays for a warranty return in year 1 and years 2–5?
First 12 months: for a covered product fault, VanGlaze will provide a replacement or another remedy agreed with you and arrange or pay the reasonable cost of returning the faulty product. Please contact us first so we can agree the return arrangements.
Years 2–5 (months 13–60): under this voluntary warranty, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying for the product to be returned to VanGlaze for assessment and replacement. If the fault is covered, the replacement product is supplied free of charge.
Statutory rights take priority: the customer-paid return rule does not apply where consumer law requires us to provide a remedy at our expense. In those cases, we will cover the necessary reasonable costs, including return postage, even after the first year.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, routine maintenance or the normal use-up of consumable products.
It also excludes damage or faults caused by accidents, stone impacts, misuse, neglect, incorrect storage, unsuitable cleaning chemicals, failure to follow reasonable care instructions, incorrect third-party fitting, incompatible adhesives, vehicle/bodywork defects, or alterations and repairs that cause the problem.
For sliding windows, keep drainage channels and weep slots clear. Problems caused by blocked drainage are not manufacturing defects. Normal moisture draining through the designed channels is not itself a fault; persistent leaks should be reported for assessment.
A genuine defect or premature failure is not automatically treated as wear and tear. An unrelated modification or third-party installation does not automatically invalidate cover for a product defect.
Wear and tear? We’re still here to help. Even if an issue falls outside our warranty, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Give our friendly team a call on 01455 243388 or email info@vanglaze.uk. We’ll listen, talk through the options and do our best to help put things right in the most practical way possible. We want you to feel supported long after your purchase.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Contact info@vanglaze.uk or call 01455 243388 as soon as reasonably possible after discovering a problem. Include your order number or other reasonable proof of purchase, a description of the fault and photographs or video where reasonably available.
Please contact us before removing, repairing or sending back the product so we can assess the issue and provide safe return instructions. We may reasonably need to inspect the product or vehicle before confirming cover.
Pack returns securely using packaging suitable for automotive glass. Original packaging is helpful but is not a condition of a valid faulty-goods claim. Do not post loose or broken glass; contact us for guidance. Stop using a product if continued use could be unsafe or cause further damage.
Does the warranty cover fitting and other costs?
Fitted by a third party: our voluntary product warranty does not cover that installer’s workmanship or their removal, refitting, adhesive or labour charges, unless agreed by us in advance. This does not exclude any costs or compensation we must pay under your statutory rights.
Supplied and fitted by VanGlaze: our existing five-year cover for the product and our fitting workmanship continues. Contact us to arrange an inspection and a covered remedy; do not remove the glass yourself without speaking to us.
The voluntary warranty does not include travel, accommodation, vehicle hire or loss-of-use expenses unless agreed in writing. This does not limit liability or compensation that cannot legally be excluded.
What happens when a product is replaced?
We will assess the claim fairly and explain the outcome. For a covered fault, we will supply a replacement; any alternative remedy will be agreed with you, subject to your statutory rights. If the original product is unavailable, we will discuss a suitable equivalent or another appropriate remedy.
A replacement supplied under this voluntary warranty is covered for the remainder of the original five-year period; it does not restart that period. This does not reduce any statutory rights relating to the replacement.
These warranty details were updated on 18 October 2026. Any new restrictions apply only to orders placed after publication. Existing orders retain the warranty terms and promises provided when purchased.
